ㅤMaeve was born and raised on a private island in The Cieldalaes off the coast of La Noscea with the women of her family, only leaving in the Fourth Umbral Moon of the year [2025]. She and her mother's relationship had become strained after an accident when she was much younger, a chemical reaction from something her 'apothecary' of a mother was working on went up, causing severe chemical burns through Maeve's respiratory system from the resulting fumes, causing her to fall into severe coughing fits that often cause her to faint from lack of oxygen... Or at least how the Viera claims the story goes. After leaving the island, Maeve would spent a brief amount of time in Ishgard, beginning her work rehabilitating and finding new homes for injured and orphaned creatures. As of the Sixth Astral Moon of the same year, Maeve has moved in with her partners Cyrelle and Mina, the pair and Maeve having become close after learning of her condition, determined to find a solution to relieve her of her fits.

Cyrelle and Maeve initially hit it off through shared experiences, forming a fast friendship. One night during a particularly intense fit of coughing that left Maeve slumped against a wall and gasping for air, both Mina and Cyrelle would find her and quickly bring her into their home, giving the Viera time to rest and recuperate and allowing her to stay with them for multiple nights. The trio became incredibly close in that time, care and worry for the dark-haired Veena turning into love and an intense desire to cure her of her maladies, offering Maeve a permanent spot in their lives which she would promptly accept. The trio have continued to love and care deeply for each other, enjoying the day-to-day of their lives and looking forward to a hopeful and bright future together.
